No news on the free agent front, but the Sox did claim LHP Billy Traber off of waivers from the Cleveland Indians. In 2002 Traber was 17-5 with a 2.94 ERA over 26 starts and one bullpen appearance. In late 2003 he underwent Tommy John surgery and spent all of 2004 rehabbing his arm. If Traber can get back to being %100 percent healthy he may be able to contribute in 2005, although personally I expect him to spend a fair amount of time in Pawtucket. Traber is a great pick-up by Theo and will fit in nicely with the veritable shit ton of solid-to-good left-handed pitching that Theo has stocked up on in the minors. (If you haven't lately, you should check out the rosters sometime, it really is amazing.) I want to stand up and say it loud: I heart Theo Epstein.
